Date: Monday, May 21, 2012. 9:00 AM.
Location: Berg Hall - Li Ka Shing Conference Center
Diseases involving molecular motors and the cytoskeleton are common, costly, and often devastating. For most such disorders, few if any treatments are available. In this symposium, we bring together some of the world's foremost researchers to discuss what causes these diseases, and how they can be better understood. Interdisciplinary approaches from single molecule biophysics to potential therapeutic approaches will be discussed. SPEAKERS: EUAN ASHLEY, ROBERT GOLDMAN, LAWRENCE GOLDSTEIN, LESLIE LEINWAND, ELIZABETH MCNALLY, DAVID SPECTOR, AND JAMES SPUDICH The Beckman Center Director, Dr. Lucy Shapiro, and the Symposium Chair, Dr. James Spudich will give the opening remarks.
