Date: Saturday, October 13, 2012. 9:00 AM.
Location: Stanford Law School, Crown Building room 190

Each year the Levin Center for Public Service and Public Interest Law at Stanford Law School hosts at least one symposium on a substantive topic that brings together academics, practitioners, and law students to reflect on a public interest issue.  This year, we are launching an annual international symposium, which will bring together lawyers litigating human rights cases in international tribunals, lawyers deploying international human rights frameworks to advance legal reform goals in their respective countries and public policy advocates pressing for legal reforms that are more protective of individual rights. In our inaugural year we will focus, as a case study, on achieving gender equality through strategic use of both international and domestic strategies.  The symposium begins Friday and will also run all day Saturday. Stanford Law School is an approved MCLE provider.  Up to 7 hours of MCLE credit will be available for California lawyers, including 1 hour of Elimination of Bias in the Legal Profession credit for attending Saturday’s Keynote Lunch with the Honorable Judge Patricia Wald, which will feature a discussion on eliminating gender discrimination in the legal profession.
