Governor Markell will discuss the opportunities for states to manage, promote and harness new innovations that have developed as a result of businesses like Uber and Airbnb, which have fueled the sharing economy. He will also address the key challenges governments face in dealing with technology-based innovations, particularly with regard to securing the computer networks upon which so much of today's economy relies.
