This event is meant for aspiring musicians and people who want to work in the entertainment industry to meet one of the music industry's most successful executives. Cohen is currently on the advent of technology and music business. As one of the industry's most decorated talent finders, he seeks to use information technology to find the next big superstar. Lyor Cohen is currently listed as the 10th most powerful person in hip-hop! His resume is expansive, including breaking/working with artists from Run DMC to Jay-Z. He is also known for expanding both Def Jam Recordings and Universal Music Group to names like Bon Jovi, Bruno Mars, Lupe Fiasco, Mariah Carey, among many others. He was president of Def Jam for 15 years and then the CEO/President of Warner Music Group for 8 years. He stepped down in 2012 to start his new venture, 300 Entertainment. For a young start-up, indie/major label hybrid, 300 Entertainment is able to claim impressive names like Migos and Young Thug, who are on top of the hip-hop world right now. Other names include Riff Raff, ASTR, Rich the Kid, Slaptop, Eric Bellinger, Jacquie Lee among many others. 300 Entertainment has been working on innovating the music world with the advent of distribution technology, evolving with the landscape. 300 and Cohen are partnering with Head of Music at Twitter, Bob “Moz” Moczydlowsky, to develop the “tools to help music industry scouts sniff out new artists and detect trends early.”
