Lectures and demonstrations associated with the eighth annual Pan-Asian Music Festival take the format of “Elegant Gatherings,” an ancient term used to describe a gathering of scholars and artists. Join masters Yuan Sha, Ji Aeri, and Kazue Sawai in an exploration of the history of Asian instruments including the gu-zheng, koto, and gayageum. Followed by a Korean tea ceremony performed by experts in the tradition plus students from Korea’s Inje University. Elegant Gatherings also take place on 2/10 and 2/11.
