Mignon Fogarty, producer of the popular "Grammar Girl" podcast and author of Grammar Girl's Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing (Henry Holt, 2008), speaks the connection between effective communication, grammar, and usage ("Usage Girl just doesn't have the same ring to it," she says). Ms. Fogarty is the host of Grammar Girl and founder of Quick and Dirty Tips. Prior to becoming a grammar guru, she was a magazine and technical writer, and an entrepreneur. She has a B.A. in English from the University of Washington in Seattle and an M.S. in biology from Stanford University.
